Imago Dei®Clinic treats the full spectrum of mental illness, including the mood disorders, psychoses, obessive-compulsions, as well as marital, familial, and gender-sexual issues.

Imago Dei means image of God. Created in this image, the human person has a nature that can be understood in accord with universal attributes and laws, yet always retains a sublime mystery that is to be revered.

Imago Dei®Psychotherapy is the first psychotherapy to fully locate the science of psychology within a traditional Christian understanding of the nature of the human person. Imago Dei Psychotherapy (IDP) views the human person as a moral agent who is called to assent to the truth and love the good.

IDP seeks to restore the image of God, that is, a person's reason and volition, when that image has been distorted by mental and emotional factors.

Telephonic Sessions, in addition to conventional visits, are utilized by therapants (patients) from around the country to avail themselves of the unique IDP process. Therapant's often augment the telephonic sessions with a few days of intensive onsite clinical sessions.

Mental Health is defined by IDP as the ability to perceive, receive, reflect on, and act upon the real. Reality is itself understood as being, and emanates from the Supreme Being that is God.

IDP is a life changing process that calls upon a person to courageously encounter the reality of both his authentic self and the world. This is done by excising or transcending that which impedes such an encounter. Furthermore, IDP challenges a person to live in accord with reality by making concrete cognitive and behavioral changes.

Individual Psychotherapy

Psychology means "the study of the soul." It is within the delicate area of connect between mind and body, spirit and flesh, that IDP seeks to intervene. Through the science of psychology, IDP helps the therapant embrace the truth of his existence and life circumstances by overcoming mental and emotional distortions.

Marital Psychotherapy

IDP facilitates the marital union by helping spouses encounter each other on the authentic and deep level that is appropriate for those united in this closest of interpersonal relationships. Growth in love is intrinsically linked to growth in knowledge. Thus marital couples are called to grow in knowledge of self and their spouse.

Family Psychotherapy

The family is the fundamental unit of society and the home is meant to be "where the heart is." However, today the family unit is under attack as never before. IDP seeks to help define and fortify individual families so that the home is a place of refreshment and repose, order and love.
